We are excited to announce that 2017 will be the inaugural year for the Run The Springs race series!  The familiar roads, trails and greenways of Holly Springs will not only be the home to three enjoyable races in 2017, but when you conquer all three you will be part of the the inaugural race series of Holly Springs.  The Derek Davis Memorial 5k, Holly Springs Police Department 10k, and Holly Springs Half Marathon have united to create this fun and challenging sequence!

Those who race all three will be awarded the Inaugural Run the Springs medal shown here.

8/19 – 3rd Annual Derek Davis Memorial 5k

This race honors the life and legacy of Holly Springs runner, Derek Davis.  In April 2015, Derek was out running with his wife, Amanda, when he was tragically stuck by a car.  From that tragedy, HSRC created the DDMR.  The race provides collegiate scholarships for Wake County cross country runners.  In addition to the scholarships, the race also promotes shoe donations and through 2016 it has gathered over 1000 pairs of shoes for people in need.

9/16 – Holly Springs Police Department 10k

The Holly Springs Police Department host a 5k and 10k each year to help raise funds for the Special Olympics of North Carolina and its athlete. Only participants running the 10k will qualify for the Run the Springs race series.
